Water is the key to successful green infrastructure at any level, in every green design. Keep rainwater out of the sewer and put it to work for us!
Managing water in various ways.
We believe that no opportunity can be overlooked when it comes to enabling stormwater to improve quality of life.
People continuously move to large metropolitan areas, resulting in the construction of more buildings and paved areas, which leads to a decrease in green infrastructure. This reduces the capacity for rainwater infiltration which, in combination with an increasing quantity of rainstorms, leads to more frequent and severe occurrences of urban flooding. At the same time built areas collect energy from the sun during the day and radiate this back to the city as heat during the night. In metropolitan areas the night-time temperature can be as much as 8 to 10 degrees than the surrounding countryside.
Where nature creates a microclimate in which it thrives, human settlements suffer from this urban heat-island effect, negatively impacting human lives and well-being.
Let's build on water
The rangee of ancillaries wil make issues like attaching solar panels or connecting pipe systems a simple DIY job.
Healthy city trees reduce the urban heat-island effect, but the amount of water needed to be able to actually do so is often underestimated. Without sufficient water the tree cannot grow to its full potential to provide us with his much needed services to improve city life.
Permavoid's fully tested, reliable high strength subbase replacement systems can be integrated with Sustainable urban Drainage Designs - SuDS. In combination with a water permeable geotextile, on-site water attenuation for infiltration is created under the hardscape. With our waterproof membrane a combined water retention system is created and in combination with the Permavoid treatment textiles oils and other hydrocarbons can be separated.
